Developer's Note

Hello, CEOs.
We would like to provide an update regarding the maintenance carried out on April 28th and April 29th.
Despite our commitment to providing a stable service through our developer notes, we sincerely apologize for the extended maintenance that occurred over the past two days.
The issues encountered during the two-day maintenance were caused by preparations for Season 1.
While proceeding with updates related to Season 1, some schedules originally planned for the Season Reset on May 5th were unexpectedly carried out early on April 28th and April 29th.
As a result, on April 28th, a bug occurred where order cancellations could not be processed correctly, leading to an unavoidable 10-minute additional maintenance.
On April 29th, an issue occurred where Season End rewards were prematurely distributed to ASIA 2/3 servers, requiring emergency maintenance.
For ASIA 2/3 servers, we reverted the live server data to the state prior to 09:00 (UTC+0) on April 29th as part of the error correction process. Accordingly, CEOs on the ASIA 2 and ASIA 3 servers have been affected as follows:
Financial earnings in the Business Report were reset to 0.
Gold and stock statuses were reverted to their state as of 09:00 (UTC+0) on April 29th.
Additionally, Season End rewards that had been sent via mailbox were recalled, and for some CEOs who had already claimed the rewards, Diamonds and Hero Recruit Tickets may now appear as negative (-) values.
As a token of apology for the inconvenience experienced over the two days, the following compensation has been sent to your mailbox after the April 29th maintenance:
Diamonds ×500
Hero Recruit Tickets ×10
Although this compensation may not fully make up for the inconvenience, it represents our sincere hope that you will continue to trust and support us.
We once again deeply apologize for the major inconvenience caused during gameplay, and 3hgames will continue striving to provide a better gaming experience.
Thank you as always for your continued love and support.
Hello, This is Lim, The lead developer of Self-Made Billionaire.
And First of all, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks. Thanks to your overwhelming support, our game has reached #1 on the Google Play popular games chart.
This achievement is entirely thanks to all of you, our players. We will never forget your kindness, and we will strive to repay it with an even better game experience.
Today, I’d like to take this opportunity to share both the current issues we’re working to resolve and a preview of the Season 1 update scheduled for May 5th.
Several bugs occurred during the pre-season:
An issue where the chart spikes or fluctuates sharply regardless of whether a trade was actually executed
Errors in displaying the execution price
Certain skill malfunctions
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by these issues.
We will do our utmost to ensure a more stable gameplay experience in Season 1.
We plan to fix and deploy some of the urgent issues in the upcoming update on Monday, April 28th.
Many of our CEOs pointed out that the game generates more heat than expected.
We believe this stems from the game’s frequent network communication structure. While some mitigation has already been implemented, we acknowledge that full resolution is still lacking.
Please bear with us a little longer as we continue to optimize and improve this issue.
The feedback and bug reports sent through various channels are a huge source of motivation for us. We read and consider every single one with the utmost sincerity.
In particular, we’ve been surprised and impressed by players who have figured out how to earn Gold quickly and cleverly through the stock market—thank you for playing so deeply and creatively!
Self-Made Billionaire is fundamentally designed to encourage a free market economy.
We view trades between users using Gold and tactics that utilize market flows as legitimate strategies. Unless bugs or external cheats are involved, we do not consider such gameplay to be abuse. Market manipulation and creating artificial trends are part of the fun we intended. (Though please don’t try this in real life!)
However, we've also observed cases where the extent of such behavior goes beyond expectations, leading to unintended situations. For example, on certain servers, a single player has come to hold over 90% of shares in an event-listed stock, creating a near-monopoly — a trend we are closely monitoring.
At its core, the fundamental goal of this game is to successfully operate a high-value company. Accordingly, both the reward structure and system design — now and in the future — will continue to be adjusted with this philosophy in mind.
We will also make sure that users who’ve been sincerely growing their companies don’t suffer any disadvantages.
To that end, we plan to implement the following on April 28th:
Fee logic change: Currently, fees are charged at the time of order. This will be changed to charge fees at the time of execution. Please note that this will also result in a slight increase in fee rates.
Order Book Adjustment: The disparity in order book depth based on price levels will be adjusted to create a thicker and more balanced order book overall. This change aims to move away from a structure where prices could easily be pushed to their upper or lower limits, toward a system that requires more capital and effort to significantly influence market movements.
Bug fixes: We will fix known bugs and issues occurring during stock trading.
Market balance: We plan to adjust the impact rate of revenue stats and increase short-selling volume to reflect company value more effectively.
Hero balancing: We’ve observed a sharp increase in the usage of certain heroes. After gathering feedback, we’ll make adjustments (buffs/nerfs) in the next update to provide a more balanced experience.
Please refer to the April 28th patch notes for detailed information.
We know there’s still a long way to go, but we’ll continue to improve and grow Self-Made Billionaire.
All images and data shown are currently in development and may be subject to change.
To support a fair and dynamic market environment, we will partially reset previous season records at the start of Season 1.
We introduced the seasonal system to prevent a fixed, monopolized market with only a few listed companies, and to create a healthy, cyclical market that includes new players.
The goal is for all CEOs—listed or unlisted—to grow and eventually be able to list their companies in future seasons, enabling a continuously evolving market environment.
To maintain this cyclical market structure, it is essential that the gap between existing and new users does not become excessively wide. While we believe it's important to preserve certain advantages based on growth and progress, we also want to avoid a system where newcomers are permanently left behind. That's why we introduced the seasonal reset system.
With the launch of the official season, players will go through the following reset process at the start of each new season.
All held stocks will be sold at 80% of market price
Progressive tax will be applied based on Gold holdings:
Under 1B
0%
1B to under 5B
30%
Over 5B
50%
After tax, any Gold above 10B will be removed.
Department building levels, Diamonds, Mcoin, and Heroes will remain unchanged.
Through this process, we aim to preserve the advantage of players with high company value while preventing excessive Gold inflation.
Although Gold will be reset at the end of each season, players with strong company fundamentals will still be able to quickly regain their advantage in the new season by accumulating Gold more efficiently.
At the same time, we plan to introduce new content that provides additional ways for players with over 20 billion Gold to spend their resources meaningfully. A new Financial Profit & Loss ranking will also be added, allowing players to earn separate rewards based on their Gold holdings and investment performance — independent of the seasonal reset.
As previously announced, user-owned companies will be listed:
The Top 50 users by company value will be listed. Starting prices range from 10,000 to 30,000 depending on ranking.
Market Cap Rewards: At the end of Season 1, M-Coin rewards will be distributed based on market cap. The number of issued shares will be fixed across companies, so stock price alone will determine rankings.
Rewards will be upgraded to match regular season standards.
Ultimately, company value rankings will affect market cap rankings and impact the season start. This reflects the game’s goal: running a valuable company.
If a stock price falls below 1,000, it will be flagged as "Cautionary"
If it remains below 1,000 for two days, it will be delisted (and excluded from rewards)
Introducing the main new feature of Season 1: Litigation!
This political-style PvP allows users to challenge listed companies. Once a litigation begins, a window opens where all users can bet Gold on one of the two sides. Whichever side raises more Gold wins. While it’s a straightforward mechanic, success is influenced by your LAW Stat.
Once the litigation ends, the total wagered Gold (minus fees) is distributed to the winning side’s backers. Think of it as a strategic group PvP.
The litigation result will affect the corresponding stock price, so even if you don’t participate, be sure to follow outcomes if you hold shares!
In Season 1, new systems that directly affect stock prices will be introduced alongside regular trading. By strategically combining short selling and litigation, you’ll be able to develop more dynamic and multidimensional stock strategies.
More detailed info on litigation mechanics will be included in the official guidebook soon.
With the launch of litigation, we’re introducing the Legal Team and its LAW Stat. Leveling up your Legal Team will greatly improve litigation performance, so be sure to invest wisely.
Two new heroes will be introduced:
Whale Litigator: A specialist for litigation
Marketist: A pro at managing listed companies
We’re also addressing various QoL feedback. Full details will be shared in upcoming patch notes.
We’re working on systems like dividends and guilds to deepen the fun of managing companies and teams. We’re also planning exciting external collaborations and partnerships to provide fresh gameplay experiences.
To express our gratitude, we’ll be offering a daily reward of 100 Diamonds via in-game mail from April 26th until May 4th.
(Log in each day to claim)
We promise to continue open and honest communication. Thank you once again for spending your valuable time with Self-Made Billionaire.
